The Complete Car Kit Information Source

     The Second Edition lists over 11,000 kits, including kits for customs, muscle cars, street rods, low-riders, trucks and sports cars, and even some boats and motorcycles. The book is organized first by manufacturer (in alphabetic sequence). Within a given manufacturer’s list, kits are sorted next by category (e.g., Big Rigs) and by model year (e.g., 1971 Chevy). Within a given category or model year, kits are listed in alphanumeric sequence. Thus, to locate a given kit, look first for the manufacturer, then the category or model year, then the individual kit number.
      This book is intended to assist the car kit buyer in determining the market value of a kit. We have included four price ranges, defined as follows:

        FS: Factory sealed, inside and outside
        FSI: Factory sealed, inside only
        FNS: Not sealed inside or out, but all parts there
        FC: Part or all of the kit, as found at garage sales, flea markets, etc.

     We have attempted to develop a specialized price guide that dealers, collectors and model builders can rely on. We have provided a complete range of prices, from factory sealed to the junk models in fair condition that one might find at a garage sale or flea market.

     The prices listed in this guide represent general "ballpark" figures for the model enthusiast. It is not the intent or purpose of this guide to set wholesale or retail prices.
